Parenting classes for free or low-cost. You do not have to get a referral to enroll, any Dad or Mom that wants to be "the best parent they can" may voluntarily attend any of the classes that have an opening. If you are court ordered to attend, make sure the classes are court accepted. By Victor Stark.

Parenting Class orientation for CPS classes. Home visitation Services for 0-5 age group:

  1. Parent Orientation Session
    Go to the Regional Office Park, 3331 Power Inn Road, Sacramento, CA 95826 map (Clock Tower) on Friday 11:00 a.m. parenting class orientation even if you have not yet been required by Juvenile Dependency Court (CPS) to take a parenting class, it will give you a registration and parenting class referral, which puts you a step ahead of your caseworker.

    Parents with medi-cal. You do have to have a case worker to be eligible for ACCESS services. If you want to make a self-referral for participation in their parenting classes/services serving mental health challenges, then you can call ACCESS and describe your situation to them and they will determine your eligibility.

    Provides "in-home" parenting lessons and interactive activities with your children typically 0-5 age group. The Nurturing Parenting program is a nationally recognized program designed to build and improve self-worth, empathy and discipline, and empowerment for Dads, Moms and children.

We understand the difficulties that come with raising an emotionally challenged child; like trying to understand what your child's educational rights are and navigating the Mental Health, Child Welfare and Probation Systems.

    Provide services for both CPS and community based caregivers. CPS parenting class for ages 6-18 years old. Starts in Jan. 2014, total cost is $10.00, cash. Requirement: Meet with facilitator before class starts. Topics include: Defining Abuse & Neglect; Anger Management, Co-Dependency, & the Dependent Child; CPS process; What Should Parents do When their Child Runs-away; Non-Violent Communication & "I" messages; Mental Health Concerns for our Children; Setting Family Goals & Maintaining Objectivity; to name a few.
