Subsidized Childcare and Sliding scale Pre-school Programs I 2011


Each subsidized pre-school and child care has their own eligibility requirements. This daycare, childcare and pre-school programs base their services upon your income and maybe your zip code. A tip is that you can sometimes enroll into two subsidized programs consecutively in order that you may receive full day services. There are words in “blue” that underline on a mouse over" linking directly to their site or you may personally contact them by phone. Sacramento parents with children age  0- 5. Sacramento county residents who are income eligible may apply directly to any Head Start subsidized/free pre-school which is within your county. Head Start provides half day pre-school enrollments along with full day enrollments that may have a waiting list. If you need full day services, please call Child Action.

There are several 4th R locations >> throughout Sacramento, most are within elementary schools. Your child does not have to  attend the elementary school where the 4th R is located. CalWORKs Child Care Program

Go to the Sacramento County website link for a detailed list of subsidized childcare eligibility requirements. Speak with your CalWORKS social worker for eligibility. You may also contact Child Action at (916) 369-0191 and inform the intake worker that you need "CaWORKS stage one or two childcare".

Cal-Learn

Cal-Learn is a program for Sacramento pregnant or parenting teens under the age of 19 on welfare, is a statewide, 

mandatory program designed to help them graduate from high school and become self-sufficient.
