SCFR has identified an oppressive problem in our Sacramento, CA community service programs. Community service directories and Resource Books are purchased by community programs and community-based organizations, and most resource books contain only resources relevant to the organization that published and purchased the social services or information and referral resource book. Most community service directories are "outdated" by the time they are published. Some organizations "sell" their community service directories! Selling and limiting content of community service directories create an economic barrier, and impede the development of our Sacramento community. Simply put, the people in our Sacramento community who need the resources the most are unable to have the resource books. We at SCFR believe that help and resources should be provided for free, and without conditions or limitations.

Tips:

If you are in a Community Center, then print this community service directory and display it for all to use. The book is designed for individual pages to be copied. A re-print permission is not required.

• Make a copy and take it back to your neighborhood for other families to use that may not have transportation to the community center.
• Case managers, please print this resource book and give it to the clients, they will appreciate the opportunity to help themselves, plus it will save you a lot of time.

3. The book is updated annually.
4. Internet only resources, and images, are not included in the book.
5. When new pages come out then look below for the  image because these pages are not in the book. You will need to add them.
