There are mental health programs for the homeless, housing, emergency mental health, County of Sacramento, and community services. We have included a resource for you to make a mental health self-referral including services for individuals, families and children. Services Available: Outpatient, School Based Mental Health Services, Psychological Services, In-Home Counseling, Home Visitation Programs, Therapeutic Behavioral Services and much more.

The Child and Family ACCESS Team is the entry point for all county operated and contracted child and family planned mental health services. If you want to make a self-referral to the Child and Family Institute or the CAARE Diagnostic Center for participation in their parenting classes then, you can call ACCESS and describe your situation to them. You do not have to have a caseworker to be eligible for ACCESS services.

River Oak encourages you to contact Access (Ph. (916) 875-9980) if a child, youth, or teen’s behavior is impairing how he or she functions at home, school, or in the community. Examples include: Disruptive behaviors, Poor school performance, Significant conflict with friends/classmates, siblings, parents, and teachers, Challenging life experiences, including trauma and abuse.

Adult program: Counseling for individual, family and group sessions are available. We encourage family participation whenever possible, but also work on a one-to-one basis. Includes medication management, Case management and Groups are conducted for women, men, ethnic monolingual clients, and teens.

Children Program: mental health services are provided with sensitivity to the client's family context, with a genuine commitment to the importance of the child's family and caregivers to treatment outcomes. Collaborates with the Sacramento City and Galt Unified School District to provide mental health services to students and their families.

Senior program: The program is designed to help seniors over the age of fifty five develop self sufficiency by providing culturally sensitive and appropriate case management services, home visits, referrals to resources in the community, and USDA food. Services are available to seniors who live in south central and south Sacramento County. Also offers mental health services for seniors in our community.

Transitional Living and Community Support, Inc. (TLCS)

Each program provides mental health services, supported housing, intensive case management services, and life skills training for adults who have a psychiatric disability, and are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Hope Team and People Achieving Change Together (PACT)

Aimed at improving quality of life and preventing the individuals from repeatedly cycling through the system.

·        Widening Opportunities for Rehabilitation and Knowledge (WORK)

Provides vocational services, to adults who have a psychiatric disability, have been homeless and are ready to re-enter the workforce or are in need of additional support to maintain employment.

·        Mentally Ill Chemical Abuse(MICA)

Substance abuse recovery support to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have a psychiatric disability, which is co-occurring with substance abuse. Single individuals initially live in the Homeless Transitional Apartment Program.

Transitional Community Opportunities for Recovery & Engagement (TCORE)

Includes recovery based services to all participants with intensive short-term services to ensure that their needs are met while in the process of connecting to ongoing outpatient mental health services that meet the individual and cultural needs of the participant.
